According to a Facebook message of Jamia Alumni Directory, five graduates of Jamia Millia Islamia along with one of their accomplice took the challenge of fastest supercomputer assembling during an international conference that concluded today in Frankfurt, Germany and succeeded with a record.
In the International Supercomputing Conference 2015 held at Frankfurt from 13-16 July, record 153 exhibitors and 2,600 HPC fans from 53 countries joined. The city is the largest financial centre in continental Europe and ranks among the world’s leading financial centres.
This international event is held to discuss and showcase the latest HPC technological developments and their application in research and commercial environments. Besides, various competitions are also held including the one in which the team of young computer experts brought the name of India and Jamia Millia Islamia in the limelight.
The Jamia associates formed a team to participate in the 3KWatt fastest supercomputer assembling event held at the scenic Festhalle multi-purpose exhibition ground of the fifth largest city of Germany and came out victorious.
Safiyat Reza, the Jamia alumni presently working for the Snapdeal as a software engineer, informed through his Facebook message about the feat accomplished. He has done B.Tech in Computer Science from the Jamia.
Raza’s team mates who are also pass outs of this central university except one include Moonis Javed, Akif Khan, Umar Ahmad, Deepanshu Bhatia and Vipul Nayyar.
