Dubai (IINA) : The World Government Summit (WGS) 2017, being held under the patronage of Vice President, Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, opened here on Sunday.
As many as 4,000 delegates and 150 speakers, representing 139 countries, are attending the fifth edition of the WGS.
The gathering will allow leaders to discuss the current challenges the world face today, including economic, political and environmental, as well as the rapid innovations in science and technology. The three-day event has attracted heads of state, scientists, scholars, academics, entrepreneurs, and experts in finance and public policy.
The highly-anticipated summit will also focus on the Arab region at a time when it is facing substantial challenges on all fronts. Sheikh Mohammed will present his approach toward development and the potential future of the Arab world.
