Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) national president MK Faizi has said that the BJP government’s decision to ban the Popular Front of India and its affiliated organizations is against democracy and the people enshrined in the Constitution of India.
“It is a direct attack on the rights of anyone who speaks out against the wrong and anti-people policies of the BJP government has faced arrests and threats of raids,” he said.
“The BJP government is misusing investigative agencies and laws to silence the opposition and intimidate people into not speaking out,” Faizi said.
MK Faizi said that an undeclared emergency is clearly visible in the country. He said that its time for all secular parties and people to take a pledge to oppose authoritarian rule and protect the values of the Indian Constitution and democracy.
On September 28, The Central government banned PFI (Popular Front of India) and its associates or affiliates or fronts as an unlawful association with immediate effect, for a period of five years.
The move came came after two rounds of crackdown and arrests its over 300 leaders and office bearers.
