Muslim Board rules out compromise on Babri Masjid

Muslim Board rules out compromise on Babri Masjid

Muslim Personal Law Board's crucial meet begins in HyderabadHyderabad : The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), the apex body of Indian Muslims, on Friday ruled out any compromise on Babri Masjid, rejecting a proposal by one of its members Maulana Salman Nadvi reportedly supporting construction of Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya.

The Board announced after its executive meeting here on Friday night that there is no change in its stand that it is a mosque and when a mosque is constructed at a place, it remains a mosque till “qayamat” (the final judgement).

The land dedicated for mosque can’t be sold, gifted or in any way alienated, it said in a statement.

The Board said it never rejected the offers of conciliation by Hindu religious leaders and urged them to come forward with justifiable and honourable settlement. “However, they always had one answer that Muslims should unilaterally give up the mosque but Muslims can’t do this because giving a mosque for worship of anyone other than Allah is ‘haram’ and there is no scope for this in Shariat. If Muslims do this they will be accountable to Allah,” said the statement released in Urdu.

“The matter is in court. Board has taken a stand that it will accept the court verdict. The matter being heard in the court is not of belief but a matter of the right of ownership and hence there is hope that the verdict will be in line with the stand taken by Muslims. If this happens, this will neither be victory of anybody nor defeat of anybody. This will be the victory of justice,” said the statement read out by Board Secretary Umrain Mahfooz Rahmani.

Board’s executive member and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi read out the statement in English.

“All the attempts to negotiate the settlements in past have been infructuous and there is no proposal offering settlement without sacrificing the basic tent has ever been put before the board,” it said.

The Board reiterated its resolutions passed in 1990 and 1993. The announcement came after over four-hour long meeting of the executive on the first day of the three-day plenary.

Salman Nadvi also attended the meeting presided over by the Board president Maulana Rabey Hasani Nadvi.

After a meeting with spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Salman Nadvi reportedly favoured construction of Ram Mandir at the disputed site in Ayodhya. He also reported to have said that the mosque canAbe built on an alternative land near the disputed site.

Salman Nadvi gave a clarification in the Board’s executive meeting about his proposal. Sources said he was isolated over the issue in the meeting attended by majority of 50 executive members.

Owaisi told the media that the meeting unanimously reiterated its stand. He, however, declined to answer any queries.

India’s largest markerspace to come up in Hyderabad

India Design Summit organised by the Confederation of Indian IndustryHyderabad : India’s largest makerspace, a prototyping and design centre, will come up here next year and will have equipment worth over $20 million, Telangana’s Industry Minister K.T. Rama Rao announced here on Tuesday.

To be known as T-Works, the facility will come up over 250,00 square feet with many partners offering their software tools and equipment.

Modelled on the lines of makerspaces in other countries and customised to Indian needs, this will probably be the world’s second largest facility of its kind, he said.

Anybody with an idea can collaborate with other people at T-Works and convert his or her designs into working prototype.

“T-Works will be up and running around this time next year,” the Minister said, while addressing India Design Summit organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry, adding anybody could use freely available tools — software, test and measurement equipment — to build any product.

“T-Works will allow anyone young or old school student, graduate or retired professor, man or woman to collaborate with other intelligent individuals and converge their designs on paper or PC and convert it into working prototype,” said Rama Rao, son of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Open to all Indians, the facility will have CNC machines, cutting machines of all kinds, welding and carpentry tools, PCB assembly machines, and 3D printers of all ranges.

“This I believe is going to change the way we do business especially with respect to design and hardware space in India,” he said.

The Minister said T-Works will help in making products in domains like mechanical, electro mechanic, electronics and semiconductor spaces.

It will also help in making products in automobiles, IoT, avionics, drones, med devices, medical instruments, defence equipment, consumer electronics, telecom products, mobile devices, gadgets and sensors.

“T-Works will become one of cornerstones and essential hub in the wheel in heralding a new wave of entrepreneurs, makers, tinkerers and designers of all kinds, aesthetic, textile, fashion, lifestyle, mechanical and technological,” he added.

global halal expoMaeeshat Correspondent,

Hyderabad, Aug 6: The historic city of Nizams, which is also the capital city of both Andhra and Telangana, is all set to host India’s first halal trade expo. With the promise of opening the gateway to over US$ 1.1 trillion market of halal industry, the Global Halal Expo 2017 will be held at the City Convention Centre from 19-21 September.

The Global Halal Expo 2017 will inform the visitors about the benefits and advantages of halal certification and will unlock the true potential of the Islamic market globally.

“The Global Halal Expo 2017 will not only promote trade between the rest of the world and Islamic world it will also create awareness on ‘Halal’ living and the wider concept of halal and its extension to industries besides food & beverages,” says the organizers of the expo which, they say, would showcase the macro and micro fundamentals of a halal economy.

India as a Big Market for Halal

The organizers of the Global Halal Expo 2017 aim to tap the huge potential of Halal industry in India – home to over 172 million Muslims, that is 14.6% of India’s total population. Muslims are the second largest community after Hindus in the country and after Indonesia, India has the second largest Muslim population in the world.

India’s personal care products market was estimated at $43 billion in 2015, and the country’s 170 million Muslims accounted for $4.2 billion of this total. This spend is projected to grow to $7.3 billion by 2020, according to Dinar Standard analysis.

There is a clear demand for halal-certified product, which has promoted the rapid growth of new lines such as Iba Halal Care.

“Bikano, the sweet and the namkeen brand from Bikanervala Foods, has seen a 30% jump in soan papdi and cookies sales in Malaysian market in the last one year, partly due to the halal-certification that gave a higher visibility on retail shelves there,” said Global Halal Expo organizers.

“Halal signifies highest standards of quality and hygiene in ingredients, processes and products,” said Sachin Anand, head (international business), Bikanervala Foods.

“Islam in many ways is a way of life. To that extent, Islamic branding is all about using brands as good deeds. What starts with halal foods, can move on to halal practice in every industry, be it the pharmaceutical or the cosmetic industry. Islamic branding can embrace broader pastures that cover business practices too,” said Harish Bijoor, CEO of Harish Bijoor Consults.
