Khartoum (IINA) : Sudanese Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Badr-Eddin Mahmoud called on the Jeddah-based Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Group to expanding cooperation with Sudan, especially in the areas of provision of grants and aid, SUNA reported.
The minister made the request during his meeting with IDB mission in Khartoum on Thursday. They discussed major projects funded by the bank in Sudan as well as the new borrowing program for 2017-018. The meeting was attended by Official of IDB Project Portfolio in Sudan Zuhair Mohamed and Sudanese Minister of State for Finance Dr. Abdul-Rahman Dirar.
In addition to the borrowing program, the meeting discussed the IDB projects for combating malaria and cancer, development of agriculture in Al Gadarif State (eastern Sudan), slaughterhouses and electricity in Darfur region in the country’s west.
The official of the IDB projects, on his part, expressed appreciation of the existing strategic partnership between the Bank and Sudan. He pointed that the progressing relationship between the two sides has yielded vital projects which contributed to achieving socio-economic developments in Sudan.
