Manama, (AB/IINA) : The sixth annual GCC Financial Forum, co-hosted by Euromoney Conferences and the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), will kick off Monday in the Bahraini capital Manama.
Around 600 financial experts, economists and policymakers are taking part in the two-day event. EDB Chief Executive Khalid Al-Rumaihi confirmed that the forum will focus on the outlook for the economies of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the development of the region’s financial sector and innovative solutions to today’s financing challenges at the level of the financial services and banking.
“Diversification agendas across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) are generating exciting new opportunities for the private sector to offer sustainable solutions,” Al-Rumaihi said.
“The forum provides decision-makers with a unique platform to share ideas that will (help) shape the region’s response to the challenges and opportunities ahead,” he added.
The main issues to be raised at the meeting include dynamics of the oil market, fiscal strategy, taxes and fees that will be part of the future economic development of the GCC. The impact of global political events and the role of private capital will also be discussed.
