Doha (IINA) : Qatar Charity (QC) is preparing for the establishment of 1,000 housing units (caravans) equipped with solar-powered and furnished to the people whose houses were completely demolished in several areas in Syria, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
QC said it had held a coordination meeting in Ankara to prepare for the shelter project within Syria, to be implemented in partnership with the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) in the coming weeks.
Director of Operations Management at QC Eng. Khalid Abdulla Al Yafei said that the joint venture with AFAD comes in implementation of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by the two sides last month in Ankara.
He stressed QC’s keenness on cooperation with strategic Turkish partners who have considerable experience in humanitarian work within the framework of tireless efforts to strengthen the partnership with international and regional humanitarian organizations’ efforts in a way that serves the charitable work.
