Doha, Qatar, (NNN-QNA) : Qatar Central Bank’s (QCB) Governor, Sheikh Abdullah bin Saoud Al-Thani, affirmed that Qatar’s banking sector was functioning normally, and without disruption to any of its domestic or international transactions.
In a statement, on Monday, Sheikh Abdullah said that, QCB was fully committed to the freedom to transfer money, in and out of the country, and that QCB has sufficient foreign currencies reserves, to meet all requirements.
The governor said that, liquidity in Qatar’s banking sector remained strong, and met all customer requirements, noting that, Qatari banks have an extensive international presence, that included key financial centres in Asia and Europe, giving them additional flexibility and capacity, to carry out all banking transactions, whether domestic or international.
He said that, QCB has a range of monetary and financial tools that were adequate and capable of ensuring that the banking sector in the State continued to function normally without disruption.
