LUCKNOW : Mayawati, the head of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), stated on Friday that the election results in Uttar Pradesh were a “lesson for us.” Only one seat in the state was won by the BSP.
“The election results in Uttar Pradesh are not in line with the BSP’s predictions. It should not be a source of discouragement for us. Instead, we should learn from it, reflect on it, and press on with our party’s effort in order to return to power “Mayawati stated the following.
Mayawati, the BSP’s leader, addressed a press conference on Friday and urged party members not to be discouraged, promising a comeback in the future. Mayawati stated that the party is going through a difficult period, similar to what the BJP experienced previously.
“Prior to 2017, the BJP did not have a significant presence in Uttar Pradesh. Similarly, the Congress is currently going through the same phase as the BJP… The election results in Uttar Pradesh are a reminder to us to keep working hard “Mayawati stated the following. She said that the BSP’s negative campaign misled the public.
“Negative efforts succeeded in persuading the public to believe that the BSP is the BJP’s B-team, when the truth is quite the contrary. The battle between the BJP and the BSP was not just political, but also ideological and electoral “declared the BSP’s leader. She went on to say that people voted for the BJP in order to prevent the Samajwadi Party from winning.–
