OPEC chief confirms talks on reducing oil market surplus taking correct path

Algiers (IINA) : Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Mohammed Sanusi Barkindo said that talks on the possibility of reaching an arrangement to allow reducing the oil market surplus is taking the correct direction.

In a statement to Algeria Press Service on the sidelines of the 15th International Energy Forum (IEF15) which started in Algiers on Tuesday, Barkindo said serious work is underway to make tomorrow’s informal meeting of OPEC a success. He noted that there are some differences of viewpoints among the member states but that consultations between non-OPEC oil producing countries and consuming countries will be expanded after this meeting.
