NEET-2020: Shaheen Fellows Karthik Reddy, Arbaaz Ahmed Get AIR 9th and 85th Respectively

Bengaluru:  Around 400 students from the Karnataka-based Shaheen Group of Institutions have cracked the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2020 whose results were announced on Friday evening. Two of them – Karthik Reddy and Mohammad Arbaaz Ahmed have made it to the national list of top 100 successful candidates.

With 710 out of 720 marks, Karthik has got 9th All India Rank in the toughest medical college entrance examination while Arbaaz has secured 85th position with 700 marks.

Moreover, Karthik has secured first rank in the state of Karnataka and Arbaaz got 3rd rank.

“For the first time in the history of Karnataka, two of the top 3 Karnataka State ranks in NEET-2020 results are achieved by Shaheen Group of Institutions,” announced Shaheen Group on its Twitter handle.

Both are students of Shaheen Pre-University College in Bidar district. Karthik’s father is a professor at the Guru Nanak Engineering College in Bidar. Arbaaz’s father is a lorry driver who lost his limbs in an accident.

In all, around 400 students from Shaheen Group of Institutions have secured ranks in NEET-20 and they will get admission in medical colleges.

“Last year, our students got around 8.32% of the state’s government quota seats. This year, we may get around 10%,” said Dr Abdul Qadeer, Secretary, Shaheen Group, in a media statement.

The group has 50 educational institutions across 12 states.
