MoU signed between Jamia Hamdard and the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD)

New Delhi, August 16, 2024: Jamia Hamdard and the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on August 13, 2024 at NSTI Centre, Noida. The event was graced by the Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Shri Jayant Chaudhry as the Chief Guest. The Hon’ble minister emphasized the importance of skill development amongst the students and suggested to equipped themselves with the modern technology i.e. Artificial Intelligence, IOT, Block chain etc.

The MOU was signed by Dr. M. A. Sikandar, Registrar, Jamia Hamdard and Dr. Poonam Sinha, Director, NIESBUD. The other dignitaries  present during the occasion were Prof. Farhan Jalees Ahmad, Dean, School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research; Dr. Babar Ali Khan, Assistant Professor, Department of Management, Jamia Hamdard and Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Ms. Hena Usman, Director General, NIESBUD & Joint Secretary, MSDE, Govt. of India.

The objective of the MOU is to promote entrepreneurship among the target groups under the collaboration of both the Institutions for their gainful livelihood generation through self-employment. Also to enable the parties to identify mutual collaboration opportunities bringing together the strength of both NIESBUD and Jamia Hamdard towards sustained development of entrepreneurial skills and education.

Area of association will be to promote entrepreneurial activities amongst the all students of Jamia Hamdard. To identify the entrepreneurial opportunities and government promoted programs aligned with the scheme of Atma Nirbhar Bharat. Handholding of the small businesses established by the students and any other activities that can be taken upon to promote entrepreneurship development.

The event was concluded by the vote of thanks by Ms Hena Usman, Director General, NIESBUD & Joint Secretary, MSDE, Govt. of India.
