Mercedes launches its most luxurious SUV GLS 350 d

mercedNew Delhi, (IANS) Leading German luxury car maker Mercedes Benz on Wednesday launched its most luxurious sports utility vehicle (SUV) Mercedes Benz GLS 350 d in India.

“Popularly known as the S-Class of SUVsa The GLS is the epitome of exemplary engineering that cleverly combines unmatched space, with delightful driving pleasure on any terrain,” said Mercedes Benz India MD and CEO Roland Folger in a statement.

Simultaneously with the launch, Mercedes Benz announced the local production of GLS 350 d in Pune as India featured in the top 10 GLS markets for the company.

“The GLS will be locally manufactured in our world-class production facility in Pune from its India launch. We are confident that the local production will make the GLS 350 d attractive for the eminent buyers with additional value propositions,” said Folger.

Priced at Rs.80.40 lakh (Ex-showroom Pune), the SUV is powered by a 2,987cc V6 engine producing a power output of 190 kW at a torque of 620 Nm.

Top features include 9-G Tronic automatic transmission, 4matic permanent all-wheel drive system, new generation telematics, smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and memory package for driver and the front passenger among others.

GLS 350 d is available in six colours — citrine brown metallic, design diamond white bright, cavansite blue metallic, obsidian black metallic, iridum silver metallic and tenorite gray metallic.
