International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM)Jeddah, (IINA) : The 11th International Conference on Islamic Economics and Finance (ICIEF) will be held on October 11-13 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to discuss the role of Islamic economics and finance in the contemporary global development agenda.

The conference is organized jointly by the Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI) of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Group; Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences (KENMS), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM); and the International Association for Islamic Economics (IAIE), with the support of the Malaysian Ministry of Finance.

Under the theme of “Rethinking Islamic Economics and Finance: Paving the Way Forward for Inclusive and Sustainable Development”, this year’s edition of the conference will bring together academics, researchers and policymakers from around the world to discuss 100 research and policy papers from authors representing 35 countries.

Key areas of focus will include the way forward to develop the disciplines of Islamic Economics and Islamic Finance and to increase their application in the economies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries and non-member countries. The conference will also host the 5th Islamic Economics and Finance Education Symposium, to discuss issues of curriculum and quality standards.

During the symposium, Malaysia Islamic Finance Education Report 2016 (MIFER 2016), which looks at programs, curriculum, and talent in Islamic Finance Education in Malaysia will be presented, while the International Federation of Islamic Economics and Finance Educators (I-FIEFE) will also be launched.
