ISECORabat, (IINA) – Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) will participate next Tuesday in a workshop, to be organized by the Statistical, Economic and Social Research for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) in the Turkish city of Istanbul.
SESRIC’s workshop aims to introduce the tourism framework for the city of Jerusalem and to highlight its historical and geographical importance. It also seeks to raise awareness of the importance of preserving the heritage entity in Jerusalem as it is an attraction that benefits the development of tourism in Jerusalem and to increase awareness of the problems and obstacles that hinder tourism development process in the city.
The workshop will also be a platform for exchanging experiences in the field of tourism development in order to benefit Palestine and the Islamic world.
The agenda of the workshop includes tourism in Jerusalem – the reality, challenges and expectancy of Jerusalem – the protection of heritage in Jerusalem as well as tourism policies such as planning and marketing.
Representatives of the Ministries of Tourism in the number of OIC member states, tourism agencies and institutes related to the tourism sector are expected to attend the workshop.
