ICC, Tata Strive ink skill development deal

icctataKolkata (IANS)  The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Tata group’s skill development initiative, Tata Strive on Tuesday signed an MoU for skill development and livelihood generation.

“The signing of MoU between ICC and Tata Strive is the first step towards the goal of making a difference. The industry body will be the facilitator and help identify skilled manpower requirement of various organisations operating in the eastern and northeastern parts of the country,” said ICC President Shiv Siddhant Kaul.

“It has been estimated that by 2022, India will have 500 million people between the age group of 15 and 59. We want to partner with industry associations and also government to expand the reach and capacity building,” said Tata Strive COO Anita Rajan.

Rajan said it has grown to 60 centres over the last 18 months to impart skill education and applied to the National Skill Development Centre for partnering with them.
