Vienna, (NNN-KUNA) : International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said on Friday that it would continue to verify the non-diversion of declared nuclear material at the nuclear facilities and locations outside facilities where nuclear material is customarily used (LOFs), declared by Iran under its Safeguards Agreement.
Since signing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) between Iran and the six powers, the Agency has been verifying and monitoring the implementation by Iran of its nuclear-related commitments under the JCPOA, said a report submitted by the agency to its director general late Friday.
Evaluations regarding the absence of undeclared nuclear material and activities for Iran remained ongoing, it added.
The report was the second since the January inauguration of U.S. President Donald Trump, who has called the pact between six powers and Iran “the worst deal ever negotiated” and branded Tehran an enemy in contrast with his predecessor Barack Obama.
The agency verified on May 16, 2017 that Iran is not now making heavy water because its production plant has been shut down, and its reserve hits 128.2 metric tons, it said.
On Natanz fuel enrichment plant (FEP), there were about 5060 centrifuges and Iran withdrew 48 centrifuges and avoided enriching uranium more than 3.67 percent in line with the JCPOA, it said.
According to the report, Tehran allowed the agency’s inspectors to monitor its facilities through the agreed-upon measures, and provided all data required in this regard.
Iran did not follow up the establishment its heavy-water reactor at Arak, and all natural uranium granules have been remained at stores under the agency’s monitoring, it pointed out.
