The 40th  Hunar Haat is showcasing acceptability of UPI based payments by the common people in a broader way.  In his latest edition of Man Ki Baat address, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday highlighted rapid switchover to digital payments from cash payments across the coutnry. Retail artisans in the Hunar haat have recognized PM’s mention of digital payments on a positive note.
Harshpreet Singh, a Punjab based artisan, expressing his adequate experience with digital payment, remarked that UPI based payment enables a customer to pay more attention and be centric to the products rather than the cost. Singh, who has a special fulkari dupatta stall in Hunar Hat, says that digital transactions have wiped out a lot of confusions in both sides and have narrowed the possibilities of brainstorming in bargaining considerably. He says that the new mode of payment gives a sense of freedom which cash transactions do not offer.  Mr. Alvind, who belongs to Kerala and has set up a spices outlet in Hunar Haat in ‘Mera Gao Mera Desh’, endorses the success of UPI- based payment and says that it has enabled a sense of security among the people through multiple ways. On the same line, Mr.Mirza Nisar Hussain has also got a major respite from managing cash and having records of transactions in physical form. Thanks to digital transactions which have provided him all records in digital form without any variance. Mr. Hussain is running is small business in Hunar Hat without stress due to digital payment. On the other hand, customers are equally responding the same tone on digital transactions. Mrs Amrita Deshpande, who has visited Hunar Haat with her family, applauded the new era of transactions. Deshpande said that digital transactions are the driving force behind the retail economy as it has started a new phase of competition among the shopkeepers. This competition has also motivated more people to join this ‘movement’.
