According to Radio Television of Djibouti (RTD), this amount will be allocated to improve the capacity of pastoralist farming communities in semi-arid regions, which will enable them to adapt to climate change.

Dawaleh expressed his thanks and gratitude to the AfDB for its valuable contribution to the economic and social development process and as well as for its support for the initiatives adopted by the government to improve the rural areas affected by the climate change that has swept the Horn of Africa in recent years.

For his part, the regional director praised the efforts being made by the Djiboutian government, especially the Ministry of Agriculture, Water, Fisheries and Livestock, to mitigate the loss and damage caused by climate change.

It is noteworthy that the AfDB contributes to the financing of the construction of a general hospital in the capital city of Djibouti, with an estimated cost of $9 million.
