Beijing, (NNN-Prensa Latina) : Chinese Vice-President Li Yuanchao and Brazilian Foreign Minister Aloysio Nunes Ferreira agreed to work on preparations for the next BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) summit.
Li said China and Brazil, as developing countries and major emerging economies, should implement the consensus reached by their leaders, link development strategies and enhance practical cooperation.
The Chinese Vice President proposed that both sides increase cooperation within the Strip and Route Initiative and deepen their comprehensive strategic partnership.
China hopes Brazil will play a positive role in the cooperation between the Asian giant and Latin America, he emphasized.
By its part, Nunes indicated that Brazil supports the BRICS summit in China and wishes to cooperate more with the Asian country in several areas.
The 9th BRICS Summit will be held next September in the Chinese city of Xiamen, Fujian Province.
The Brazilian foreign minister is officially visiting this country until June 20.
Nunes will attend a meeting of the foreign ministers of the BRICS countries to be held in Beijing on June 18-19.
