by | May 25, 2021

Palestine EconomyCairo (IINA) – The Economic and Social Council of the Arab League called on member states to provide further support to the Palestinian economy in order to face the Israeli occupation.

At the conclusion of its 96th session held here on Thursday under the chair of the UAE, the Council urged the ministerial councils in the Arab states to increase their support to Palestine’s economy by allocating some programs to relief and development projects to alleviate the impact of the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians and to help them overcome their financial crisis.

The meeting also called on the Arab private sector to direct part of its investments to Palestine.

The Council tasked the Secretary-General of the Arab League with coordinating with the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) and the Commission of the African Union for the Summit of the Arab and African Ministers of Agriculture, scheduled to take place in Kampala, Uganda, on October 19-23.

The Council has prepared the Economic and Social file for the 27th session of the Arab Summit, slated for March 2016 in Morocco.
