Riyadh (IINA) : Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen met here on Sunday with Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Kairat Abdrakhmanov.
The two sides discussed a wide range of issues pertaining to the relations between the OIC and Kazakhstan. They also exchanged views on the preparations for the forthcoming OIC Summit on Science and Technology, scheduled to take place in the Kazakh capital Astana in September.
The Summit will highlight the importance of science and technology for the socio-economic development of the OIC member states and lay down the OIC agenda for the next 10 years by proposing new programs, including implementation strategies and monitoring modalities.
Both parties further discussed the progress of work at the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), which is expected to provide expertise and technical knowledge on various aspects related to sustainable agriculture, rural development, and food security.
