Maharashtra: Congress ‘Army’ to Expose BJP Govt’s Failures in Public

by | Jan 4, 2022

“The economy has collapsed. The situation in the country has deteriorated under the BJP government, but it is only trying to divert the attention of the people from its lapses by fomenting unnecessary Hindu-Muslim issues,” Patole said

MUMBAI – The Maharashtra Congress announced on Tuesday that it will create an ‘army’ of well-trained and well-informed persons to expose the ‘failures’ of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi before the masses.

State Congress President Nana Patole said that the Centre has let the country down on all fronts, with skyrocketing prices of petrol, diesel, cooking gas, edible oil and other commodities, while unemployment has also increased sharply and there is no minimum support price for agricultural commodities.

“The economy has collapsed. The situation in the country has deteriorated under the BJP government, but it is only trying to divert the attention of the people from its lapses by fomenting unnecessary Hindu-Muslim issues,” Patole said.

To counter the BJP’s strategy and make the masses aware, the Congress will form large groups of trained and informed persons to go and explain the real situation to the commoners across the state, he added.

Patole’s assertions came during a review meeting of the party organisations in Pune, Solapur, and Kolhapur districts in Mumbai, which was attended by top leaders like Chandrakant Handore, Naseem Khan, Basavaraj Patil, Mohan Joshi, B.E. Nagrale, Balasaheb Shivarkar, Devanand Pawar, Abha Chhajed and others.

Patole sought details of the party’s membership drive, training camps for office-bearers, preparations for the upcoming civic elections, anti-price rise agitations and awareness campaigns etc. from the district participants.

He urged the leaders to ensure that party candidates perform well in the local body elections, told them to maintain grassroot level contacts, and create awareness of the good achievements of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government among the people.
