Kolkata: Assistant Professors Dr. Kafil Ahmad and Dr. Faheem Ashraf from Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) participated in the International Education Conference organized by Maeeshat Academy Mumbai and The Sirri Saqti Foundation Kolkata at Hotel Ivory Inn.
Dr. Kafil Ahmad, Principal In-charge of Mannu Model School, introduced the school and discussed its unique education system, which offers CBSE curriculum in Urdu. He highlighted the success of students graduating from the school, stating, “Mannu Model School is the only school in India that teaches CBSE curriculum in Urdu, and Alhamdulillah, our students perform well, just like those studying in other languages.”

Dr. Faheem Ashraf Assistant professor BA Evening College emphasized the importance of mother tongue in the current education system, saying, “Countries that prioritize mother tongue see positive progress in children’s performance. We should give importance to mother tongue and ensure education without shame or feeling of inferiority.”
The conference, themed “Idea of Education in West Bengal,” saw participation from esteemed guests, including Engineer Faisal Masood, Dr. Syed Misbahuddin from the United States, Dr. Abdul Sabhan from Bangalore, and several other education leaders.
Danish Reyaz, Director of Maeeshat Academy Mumbai, stated, “The purpose of this conference was to raise awareness about innovative ideas in education and facilitate connections between educators from West Bengal and beyond.”
