Dr Zafarul Islam Khan appointed chairperson of Delhi Minorities Commission
New Delhi, July 15: Eminent Islamic scholar and former president of All India Muslim Majlis-e Mushawarat, Dr Zafarul Islam Khan has been appointed Chairperson of the Delhi Minorities Commission.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday reconstituted the three-member panel, which had been headless since early this year, for a period of three years after securing the assent of Lt. Governor Anil Baijal.
Dr Khan is senior journalist and has been writing for international media outlets. He is also Editor of The Milli Gazette. He has authored some books also.
Dr Khan has a doctorate in Islamic Studies from Manchester University and has worked for several international organisations.
Other two members of the commission are Anastasia Gill and Kartar Singh Kochhar.
