Yogi Adityanath
Lucknow : In a big relief to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Allahabad High Court on Thursday dismissed a petition seeking permission to prosecute him in a 2007 rioting case.
The plea was filed by Rashid Khan who alleged that Adityanath, then the Lok Sabha Member from Gorakhpur, incited a mob into vandalising a ‘mazaar’ belonging to Muslims.
Advocate General Raghvendra Singh challenged the maintainability of the plea, saying as the police has filed a chargesheet, the petitioner has no right to file a case.
Earlier, the additional chief judicial magistrate court had taken cognizance of the chargesheet and dismissed the case. Following this, the petitioner approached the High Court.
On December 2017, Justice V.K. Narayan heard the petition and reserved the order which was finally pronounced on Thursday.

Agra : The Taj Mahal, one of the wonders of the world, is an architectural marvel and it doesn’t matter who constructed it, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Thursday.
“It is an architectural marvel built by the blood and sweat of the local people,” the Chief Minister told a public meeting here, once again distancing his government from BJP leaders who had dubbed the 17th century Mughal monument a “blot” on Indian culture.
Addressing the crowd at the GIC ground for more than an hour, he said his government would make all efforts to boost tourism-related activities so as to increase the duration of stay of the tourists in Agra and also to up the number of their arrivals.
Adityanath accused the previous government of not doing much for tourism promotion.
He said his government was firmly committed to developing the required infrastructure. At the same time, religious tourism would receive high priority in nearby Mathura and Vrindavan, he said.

Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh is committed to promoting religious tourism in the state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Monday after undertaking a five-kilometre long ‘parikrama’ of the Kamadgiri temple at Chitrakoot.
On the second day of his visit to Chitrakoot, Adityanath took many by surprise when he decided to walk the entire five kilometre stretch around the temple called ‘Panchkosi Parikrama’.
Later, amending his scheduled programme, he went to meet holy men from the Nirmohi Akhada on the banks of Mandakini.
Refusing to take a seat specially kept for him, Adityanath sat on the floor, like other holy men, and said that he being a saintly person did not require VIP treatment.
The holy men handed over a memorandum to the Chief Minister, who said all their demands would be accepted by the government.
He said Mandakini was a holy river and efforts would be made to ensure it was kept pollution free.
He said the area would be a ‘no power cut zone’ and would get 24×7 electric supply.
The Chief Minister declared that the Madhya Pradesh-Uttar Pradesh border would be declared a free zone to make it easy for people to visit Chitrakoot.
