Will bring Private Member Bill for Ram temple construction: Tiwari

Manoj Tiwari on Ram temple construction; Will bring Private Member Bill for Ram temple constructionNew Delhi : BJP MP Manoj Tiwari on Tuesday said that he would bring a Private Member Bill in Parliament for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Tiwari made the statement after a delegation of over 25 Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders led by Bachan Singh met him at his residence here and gave him a memorandum for the temple construction.

“I just received a memorandum from the VHP delegation. And I want to assure them that I will raise the issue in Parliament and in my party,” Tiwari told the media here.

Asked if he would bring a Private Member Bill , he replied, “If required I will be the first person to bring a Private Member Bill in Parliament for the construction of the Ram temple.”

The MP said that he was shocked to learn that the matter of Ram temple has been pending for over 490 years, since 1528.

“The matter of Ram temple has been pending in court since 1950. And as the court is extending the matter and delaying the construction, we have submitted our memorandum to Tiwariji to raise the issue in Parliament,” Singh said.

After ‘Dharam Sabha’, straight to Ram temple’s construction: VHP

After ‘Dharam Sabha’, straight to Ram temple’s construction: VHP

VHP, RSS, Hindu sena, Hinduism,Lucknow : The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) said on Friday that the scheduled ‘Dharam Sabha’ in Ayodhya on Sunday was its “last effort” to clear the hurdles for the construction of a Ram temple in the temple town.

The meeting has been called to discuss a strategy for the early construction of the temple.

In a statement, VHP regional organisational secretary Bholend said there would be no more congregations and the next stop for them would be the beginning of the temple’s construction.

Ab mandir nirman ke liye sabhayein, pradarshan aur dharna ityadi nahin honge na hi virodhiyon ko samjhaya jayega…seedhe mandir nirman hoga (There would no longer be meetings, processions and protests for Ram temple, opponents will no longer be engaged with… There will only be temple construction),” he added.

This is the last time an effort is being made to make the people opposing the temple construction realise the facts, the VHP leader said.

He also said that if all efforts fail, then “war” was the only way.

The Hindu outfit has also targeted Congress President Rahul Gandhi and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and said that they were only playing to the gallery.

By wearing a ‘janeyu’ (sacred thread), travelling to Kailash Mansarovar and chanting the names of some gods does not make them devoted Hindus, the VHP leader said.

Hundreds and thousands of VHP cadres are slated to attend the ‘Dharam Sabha’ on Sunday in the temple town.

The RSS and its other affiliates have also thrown in their support to make the event a show of strength so that the Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Centre can be pressurised into acting for the early construction of the temple.

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray will also take part in some events.

Want to build Ram Mandir lawfully; no mosque: VHP

Want to build Ram Mandir lawfully; no mosque: VHP

Alok Kumar

New Delhi : The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Monday said it will wait for the Supreme Court’s order to build the Ram Mandir at the disputed site in Ayodhya “lawfully” but expressed its opposition to a mosque next to it.

VHP Working President Alok Kumar said he expected the court’s order by the end of this year and it would be in favour of the temple.

“We want the Supreme Court to start day-to-day hearing in the case from July. We expect its decision would come by end of this year and construction would start next year,” Kumar told reporters here.

“The issue is about the title of the land. We do not want a mosque in the temple area. If our Muslim brothers want a mosque outside it, we will have no problem.”

In case, the decision does not come by the end of the year, the VHP would consult saints to decide the next course of action, he added.

Kumar also said former VHP President Pravin Togadia’s decision to form a new Hindu outfit — Antar-Rashtriya Hindu Parishad (AHP) — would not have any negative impact on his organisation.

“It says any organisation set on the basis of ego, ambition or copying anyone does not last long. The VHP operates on collective leadership. So there will not be any big loss to us because of it (AHP),” Kumar said.

However, Togadia can come back to the VHP as “the doors are open for him,” he said.

VHP chief visits Ayodhya, says Ram temple will be reality soon

VHP chief visits Ayodhya, says Ram temple will be reality soon

Vishnu Sadashiv KokjeAyodhya : Newly elected Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) chief Vishnu Sadashiv Kokje on Monday visited the make-shift temple of ‘Ram Lalla’ here in Uttar Pradesh and said that the dream of billions for a grand Ram temple here will soon be a reality.

The former judge, who also served as governor of Himachal Pradesh, also offered prayers at the fabled Hanumangarhi temple.

Later in the day, he was scheduled to hold wide-ranging meetings with the temple priests and office bearers of the Ramjanma Bhoomi Nyas, a VHP official said.

Kokje would also visit the ‘Karyasewakpuram’ — the place where stone carvings were underway for the last many years, in anticipation of construction of the Ram temple.

On Sunday, before leaving for Faizabad, the VHP chief told reporters in Lucknow that many Muslims were also in favour of construction of the Ram temple at the disputed site.

He also said that before starting work in his new capacity as the head of the Hindu outfit, he wanted to pay obeisance to ‘Ram Lalla’ and that is why he was visiting Ayodhya.

The 79-year-old leader also said that he would soon be holding deliberations with saints from all across the country and would like to take the Ram temple movement forward.

He also expressed hope that the verdict for Ram temple would soon be pronounced in favour of the Hindu claimants.

Calling for mutual dialogue and understanding to thrash out the problem he, however, rued that the litigants were “outsiders” who had no stakes in the decades-old matter.

Government failed to fulfil people’s aspirations: Togadia

Government failed to fulfil people’s aspirations: Togadia

Pravin TogadiaNew Delhi : Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Pravin Togadia on Wednesday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of taking U-turns on promises made ahead of the May 2014 Lok Sabha polls, including construction of the Ram temple at Ayodhya, and said his government had failed to meet people’s aspirations in four years.

In a four-page letter to the Prime Minister, Togadia raised issues ranging from the Ram temple at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh to the ban on cow slaughter, repeal of Article 370 and 35A related to Jammu and Kashmir from the Constitution, Uniform Civil Code, and issues related to farmers and labourers.

He warned the government about what he said was “rising discontent” among the people, especially those affiliated to the Sangh Parivar.

Addressing a press conference here, the VHP leader reminded Modi of promises in the run-up to the last Lok Sabha polls and said selling big dreams was not enough.

“Nation-building is based on truth of the work that has to be seen on the ground,” he said.

“These questions are not just posed by an individual but lakhs of people associated with us through the ideology. They are baffled; and now they are upset because not just the government led by you is not seen doing anything on the ideological, socio-political and economic issues but also on many issues, there is a U-turn.

“It has hurt the people associated with the (Hindutva) ideology. The political power centres are seen deviating from that very ideology,” Togadia said.

“The BJP came to power based on these promises as the people believed you will fulfil these promises… what happened to those promises. They are still unfulfilled.”

He reminded the Prime Minister that the Bharatiya Janata Party at its conclave in Palampur in Himachal Pradesh had adopted a resolution for the construction of the Ram temple through a law made by Parliament.

He cautioned that time and tide don’t wait for anybody.

“In fact, time has been changing. The election results in Gujarat and bypolls in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and now Uttar Pradesh, are the indicators,” he said.

Taking a dig at Modi, the VHP leader said there was no point blaming previous governments and political parties for the situation prevailing now in the country after enjoying power for nearly four years.

He, however, said it was never too late and sought time from Modi to discuss the issues he had raised, calling Modi his “Mota Bhai” (elder brother).

Togadia escaped unhurt in a road accident near Surat this month and voiced suspicion that it was an attempt to kill him.
