Saudi Health Expo draws 8,740 visitors on its opening day

healthexpoRiyadh, (IINA) – More than 8,000 visitors were recorded on the first day of the Saudi Health 2016 exhibition which was inaugurated here this week, Arab News reported.

On behalf of Health Minister Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, Deputy Minister for Health Affairs Hamad bin Muhammad Al-Duweila opened the show in the presence of 12 foreign ambassadors at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center.

Emphasizing the importance of the exhibition at the local and international levels, a spokesman for the show told Arab News that it surpassed all expectations and estimates. “One of the major reasons behind the flow of visitors was the neat organization and thoughtful logistics of the event which enabled people to roam freely and easily around the exhibition”, he noted, adding that the Kingdom’s health care market is the largest in the Middle East.

The theme of the show was “Change starts at a point, the transformation point”, he said, noting that there were 8,740 visitors to the show at the start of the week. There were more than 550 exhibitors from 42 countries and 14 international pavilions showcasing the latest internationally accredited technology and services to a broad spectrum of decision makers, medical and health care professionals.

Alongside the exhibition, there were 15 medical and scientific conferences addressing multiple important topics including nursing, medical engineering, patient safety, primary health care, obstetrics and gynecology, pharmaceutical care, security and safety in medical facilities, emergency medicine, biomedical engineering, infection control, medical physics, diagnostic radiology, and medical rehabilitation.
