Indian Muslim Entrepreneurs Forum holds Second Conference in Pune
PUNE: (Press Release) The second IMEF conference was recently held on July 23rd 2016 at Hotel Aurora Towers, Pune India. IMEF is a new initiative aimed at driving Muslim involvement in India’s startup and technology economy. Tausif Malik & Anees Kutty organized the Second Indian Muslim Entrepreneurs Forum (IMEF) conference, both of them have a long history of involvement in business, technology, and community organizing.
The event’s theme was “Be an Entrepreneur…Be a Value Creator”, expressing the duio’s vision of the country’s Muslim community becoming more involved in stimulating the business sector and developing opportunities for the next generation.
The event started Networking Breakfast, where attendees interacted with each other and exchanged business ideas and business cards.
The opening ceremony of the event started with recitation Holy Quran by Sunni Maulana Omer Saheb and Shia Maulana Mirza Saheb and followed by Indian National Anthem by Children.
Chicago based Tausif Malik founder, IMEF welcomed the everyone and highlighted that Islam promotes entrepreneurship and contribution to motherland.
He also said that the event is to align with the policies announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modiji of “Startup India and Startup India” Digital India, Skill India and Make in India.
He then introduced co-founder Anees Kutty.

- E.Erdal Sabri Ergen, Consul General Turkey for India spoke about the business & tourism opportunities available in Turkey and invited the attendees to connect with the Turkish Embassy and Consulate for the same. He highlighted the long friendship, history with India and Turkey.

Shehzad Poonawala – Businessman & Politician spoke about Islam and business, he gave references from the Holy Quran & Hadith. He said “ We need to go back to IIM…Islamic Institute of Management as Islam talks about business and upliftment of the society.
Zafar Sareshwala, Businessman & close associate of the Narendrabhai Modi, Prime Minister of India talked about Islam, entrepreneurship and business. He gave a reference of Islamic banking system by giving reference of Hazrat Khadija (R.A) as an investor and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as business partner. He also gave a brief account about his relationship with Narendrabhai Modi, Prime Minister of India and how Muslims should connect and benefit from the policies of government of India.
H.H Maulana Sayyed Mohammad Fayyaz Baqir- Renowned Islamic Scholar gave a talk about one UMMAH and how Muslims should contribute back to the motherland through business & education.
This was followed by Lunch and Afternoon prayers (Zuhr Salat). During the Lunch the attendees didn’t leave a minute to interact with other attendees.

The attendees came back to participate at the Startup Showcase, this was the First ever Startup Showcase competition by Muslim Startups.
