SDPI national president M. K. Faizy
By Pervez Bari, Maeeshat.in,
Bhopal : The Social Democratic Party of India, (SDPI), has rejected Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 in all its entirety and takes it as highly communal and against the spirit of Constitution of India diluting cultural heritage of Assam. It is also a share violation of Assam Accord 1985 which was agreed upon by all stake holders.
Lambasting heavily on central government SDPI National president M K Faizy has said that this bill has send shock waves and widespread anger among all the parties in Assam and adjoining north eastern states. Only because such a legislation is against the popular will and mandate of the people of the region. He rejected Union Home Minister Raj Nath Singh’s statement at the floor of the House that the Bill is not specific to the North Eastern region but applicable to whole of India.
Faizy reminded the Home Minister that after the partition major migration has been reported in North Eastern states mainly from Bangladesh due to political instability while from Afghanistan and Pakistan such migration are abysmal. He said before placing this Bill in the House, Central government had brought a gazette notification before Assam Legislative Assembly elections 2016 clearly keeping an eye on Hindu Bengali speaking voters. That time too it was opposed by all including Bengali Hindu. The Bill provides citizenships to persecuted minorities belonging to Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist and Christian communities from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh while ignoring Muslim persecuted minorities from Myanmar and Sri Lanka.
SDPI raises a question as to on what basis, criteria or principles Govt. has excluded the citizen ship to the immediate Neighbour Muslim minority in Myanmar who were declared most persecuted minority of the world by UN. This is enough proof of the Govt’s biased and communal approach to the North Eastern turmoil. He said Assam accord 1985 is the only solution to resolve long pending migrants issue in Assam and North Eastern states and any attempt to change the cultural, religious and linguistic demography of the area may endanger the integrity and security of the whole nation.
Faizy elaborated further that large scale violent protests and political development followed by this Bill are clear indicator that the government is adding fuel to the fire through its short sighted, communal and fascist attitude. He questioned as to why the government is passing Bills that require extensive debate at the fag end of its tenure? The aim appears to capture a vote bank without pondering over the after effects on other Indian citizens. The Bill appears to be only another form of selective immigrant appeasement.
Faizy also lamented that three prominent individuals of Assam have been booked for sedition at a time when the state is witnessing series of protests against the Bill. He said while most of JPC members have opposed the Bill in its finding and recommended the deletion of religious criteria from the Bill. The government’s insistence on passing the Bill as it is show its high handedness and dictatorial attitude which is against the spirit of democracy.
SDPI president Faizy demands immediate scrapping of the Bill and demand to wait till the NRC is completed. Furthermore he demanded constitution of various tribunals to ascertain the citizenship of the people as per guidelines prescribed by Assam Accord 1985.

SDPI National general secretary Abdul Majeed
By Pervez Bari, Maeeshat.in,
Bhopal: The Social Democratic Party of India, (SDPI), has described the 106th Indian National Science Congress, held at Phagwara in Jalandhar, Punjab recently, as the theatre of the absurd. It can also be correctly said “Indian Science Circus”, the party said.
SDPI national general secretary Abdul Majeed in a statement said that Indian Science Congress is nothing but a Mela (fair) if not a Circus as a Scientist noted. It is high time it is closed and a new organisation purely Scientific is formed with least interference from Government.
Abdul Majeed said the atrocious claim made by Andhra University VC Nageswara Rao at the Indian National Science Congress that the Kauravas of Mahabharata were born out of stem cell research and test tube fertilisation process and that Raavana had more than 24 types of aircraft, the Pushpaka Vimana just one among them, has left the scientific community stunned.
Abdul Majeed sad that in one fell swoop, AU’s VC, Mr. Nageswara Rao has outdone Narendra Modi who once claimed that India was advanced in years of yore that Indian scientists transplanted an elephant’s head on a human body which happens to be lord Ganesh worshipped by Hindus. He has also pulled ahead of Home Minister and physics Lecturer Rajnath Singh who is also renowned for such preposterous statements as: Heisenberg Uncertainty principle is based on Vedas. So, VC Nageswara Rao is in good company!
He has hailed the joint letter signed by 37 distinguished science academics and communicators who were appalled by such statements against the “unscientific claims” made at the Indian Science Congress this year. The letter was sent to the general president of the Indian Science Congress Association expressing their deep shock and agony that false claims, based on confusing episodes in mythology as science. They lamented that scientific presentations made to the Children Science Congress wherein such claims tarnish the image of Indian science globally, and also undermine the credibility of the genuine contributions of the great science personalities of yore, that too, in front of young and impressionable minds.
He said that a Vice Chancellor talking like this in a Science Congress is absolutely ludicrous. Who let this clown mix mythology with Science? There are lots of great Scientists in India and allowing this type of non-scientific nonsense is just horrible. The problem is with people like the AU’s VC who hold positions of responsibility and influence, but whose beliefs are blinded with their passion for upholding Hindu mythology and asserting the fantastical bits as highly advanced scientific achievements of the ancients. The pity is that the numbers of such naive, irrational and unintelligent individuals seem to growing rapidly.
He said if this opinion had been expressed by a peon of the Andhra University, it would have been lamentable but perhaps excusable. If the VC of a university holds and expresses such an opinion-and that too at the meeting of a science conference–there is no hope for higher education, no hope for science or technology in India. It raises serious questions–who appointed him as the VC? On what basis are VCs appointed at a University?
Abdul Majeed suggested he Indian Science Congress should seriously evaluate the speakers who it invites to speak at its meetings. It should not become a laughing stock of Indian academia. Pity the students of Andhra University who will have his signature on their diplomas.

SDPI national president M. K. Faizy
By Pervez Bari, Maeeshat.in,
Bhopal : The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) has termed the move to provide 10 per cent reservation for upper castes (the unreserved category) with reference to their economic backwardness a political gimmick and eyewash by BJP with an eye on forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
SDPI national president M. K. Faizy in a statement said that it is the need of the hour to save community quota reservation system permanently so that it doesn’t get assaulted again and again by upper caste controlled political parties. The present move is a deliberate violation of constitutional provisions related to reservation in government services. He warned that the proposed constitutional amendment will be proved invalid.
The concept of reservation was initially meant for proportional representation in parliament and state assemblies which never happened. However, it was hijacked in a conniving manner and put into practice only in government job sector, that too not adequately, he said.
Faizy said that this step is a proof that BJP government does not have anything to showcase for the next election. They are trying all the options. He cautioned that the voters need to be vigilant about such gimmicks on the eve of a general election.
He said that real beneficiaries of such reservations are always rich people. To give real benefits, earning limit should have been kept much lower than Rs.8 lakhs as announced. With Rs.8 lakhs, majority of people will be included, thus, not really benefiting poor. This is a masterstroke from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Faizy pointed out that the Bill cannot be passed in Rajya Sabha as BJP has no majority in it. The planned legislation may not take a shape at all. He observed that by opening the Pandora’s Box the government is likely to lose its support from all backward communities, as the party will be seen as a forward community party, putting BJP in a more disadvantage position.

Bhopal: The Social Democratic Party of India, (SDPI), has vehemently condemned the brazen vandalism of statues/idols which are icons of different ideologies/castes/groups etc. by the affiliates of the saffron brigade.
SDPI national president A. Sayeed in a statement, while expressing shock, derision and disdain at these incidents, said that it is a chain that started with demolition of Babri Masjid. Bhima Koregaon was another attempt. It continues with Lenin, Periyar and now Ambedkar. Worst fears are coming true. One act of vindictiveness has ignited a chain. Statue of whosoever has had an image of being against caste and communal divide would be targeted. Mischievous elements will harp on opportunity. The Hindutva criminals are out to push India into a civil war. It must be remembered that it all this started with the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat had called on RSS cadres to practice hard line Hindutva at Meerut sometime back.
Saeed lamented that two days after Lenin’s statue was razed in Tripura and a statue of Periyar was broken in Tamil Nadu, an idol of Dalit icon Bhimrao Ambedkar was vandalized in Uttar Pradesh late Tuesday night. The incident took place in Meerut district’s Khurd village.
He questioned as to why the BJP did not take action against party’s national Secretary H. Raja who in his Tweet said: “Today it is Lenin and tomorrow it will be Periyar”. If anyone set hands on Periyar statue, then Tamil Nadu will be one fire. Because, 98 percent of the Tamil Nadu people are affiliated to Dravidian parties and Congress party only, they will come out on street. As such Raja should be sacked otherwise it will be a law and order problem in Tamil Nadu.
He welcomed the condemnation of the incidents of vandalism in several parts of the country by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi who said that stern action will be taken against those found guilty. However, it is disturbing that Prime Minister is not taking any harsh step against the culprits. If these vandalisms did not check now, it will lead to civil war. Are we prepared for this? Mere words will not bring results until and unless stern action is taken against these goons and goondas who are out there to destroy peace in the country.
He said PM Modi speaks only when he sees it is going to affect his political fortune as in case damage to Periyar statue in TN. Will he remove Tripura Governor who has crossed all the boundaries of his office dignity by openly supporting the acts of vandalism? All those who spread hate and support these acts are either CMs, Governors or VC of various universities. The sooner we get rid of these morons, the better for India. BJP which is funded by likes of Adani, Ambani, Choksi, Nirav Modi, Jatin Mehta through the looted money from public sector bank in the form of loans. These loans will then become NPA’s and BJP will then use common man money to recapitalise these banks.
Saeed pointed out that till now the BJP has turned a blind eye to all hooliganism like cow vigilance, Ram Rahim, Padmavati, Jaat strike, JNU etc. Their leaders have no shame in justifying everything in the name of misdeeds of Congress. The public is now bored of their antics. Both PM and BJP chief Amit Shah are shedding “crocodile” tears. These developments are welcome to their design viz. consolidation Hindus’ votes, to repeat Gujarat example in the whole of India. Unfortunately splintered and spineless Opposition parties (including so-called disciplined Left fronts) and turncoats like Nitish in Bihar are helping them. If they really want to avoid such incidents, instead of usual rhetoric (like stern action will be taken etc., etc.) Chief Secretaries of States should be summoned and instructed for strict action against the culprits like rounding up such elements and putting them under Goondas’ Act. Will they, he questioned?
The statement said: “Development of such type of situation is inevitable when parallel to welfare of common man, rewriting history and discrediting the “dead among opposition” becomes an agenda. What greatness did PM show in Parliament by stating if Patel was PM instead of Nehru …… and India was a democracy since Licchavi clan rule 2500 years ago! At the same time, it can not be denied that certain misled radicals are there, as in every community. But this sort of cowardly acts, on statues, is disgusting”.
“Forces of hatred always have the initiative in their hand while the rest of India just reacts, slowly and mostly ineffectively. The law and order machinery in every state should be live to trend and watch the unlawful elements in an otherwise very tolerant and peaceful society”, the statement added.
Saeed cautioned that the Nation is sitting on Time Bomb and watch is ticking fast. Luck is not on our side this time. Our own inertness is going to bring our fall.

SDPI national president A. Sayeed
By Pervez Bari,
Bhopal : The Social Democratic Party of India, (SDPI), has expressed deep concern over the declining economy of the country which appears to be in a mess. If one’s own party member is criticising his own boss for the current economic crisis, then one can imagine how ineffective Prime Minister and Finance Minister are.
SDPI national president A. Sayeed in a statement has said that what former BJP’s Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha has written in an article is correct and similar observations have been repeatedly made by many reputed Economists. It is a “Mirror in the Face” article. If the government closes its eyes, the scars in the face will not disappear. It is a blunt factual account. If we still choose to pass it off as political baiting, we are in for far bigger trouble as a nation. If the Govt continues to stay in denial mode then common man will all have to face the consequences.
Sayeed said the candid churning done by Mr. Yashwant Sinha is an awakening call to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his ways of running the country. Unfortunately, a kitchen cabinet headed by Mr. Modi runs the government without any wider consultation. It is another form of oligarchy. An oligarchic form of governance, bordering on “we are holier than others” attitude, is not the right way to address the issues facing the country. Taking the Opposition into confidence, listening to other views, and focusing on development are far more important than rhetorical speeches and pursuit of power by all means. Collective wisdom is the need of the hour.
Sayeed questioned why blame Finance Minister Arun Jaitley alone. Everyone knows he (Jaitley) also knows who the main actor is. Is it due to fear Yashwant has not mentioned his (Modi’s) name? Demonetisation was PM’s decision. Even FM was kept in the dark. There was pressure on FM to implement GST. All important decisions are taken by PM on economy, defence, foreign policy etc. The entire cabinet are mute spectators.
He lamented that it is so shameful to know that the government changed the GDP formula (method) just to show higher numbers and it is not a surprise that according to the UPA era GDP calculation the present growth rate is just 3.7! Only talking with no investment, no industry, no jobs and no employment is bad for the country. These are the known facts, maximum sectors are in distress because of Demo and followed by GST, but where are the visible corrective actions and experts to do that from ruling govt. Or will there be only shouting and criticism. Now, people have realized the fake Model of Modi. Opposition seems to be playing wait and watch game.
Sayeed said that only the hate campaign, vigilantism violence, goon culture by BJP, RSS and Shah. No investment, no industry, no jobs and no employment. On the flip side if the economy fails even worse, we call all become Gau Rakshaks – The only sector / industry that will continue to see growth. In a nutshell the ruling party is just fooling the people. BJP president Amit Shah and Modi together are trying for votes by money power and hate campaign.
The statement stated that there is a positive correlation between GDP and job creation. Jobs tend to increase with every point rise in GDP. The reverse is also true. The CRISIL, a global analytical company providing ratings, research, and risk and policy advisory services, report pegs 13 million job aspirants per year and 5 million jobs annually created in both organised and unorganised sectors, leaving a gap of 8 million each year. Computed cumulatively over 5 years, are we staring at something more expansive? With GDP coming down this gap would only increase. No wonder, both demand and supply sides suffer in this “educated Vs job availability” equation getting skewed by the day. The reality of no jobs dawns on the young aspirants after money and time; both gone, making them drift to any possible employment opportunities. Plight of dropouts finding a job in the unorganised sector is just untenable. It may be nice to camouflage the failures of our economies and employment markets and blame all ills on intangibles, if it brings a smile to the hapless populace. Rhetoric apart, time we called spade a spade.
The statement said: “The entire world is looking at India and we keep making flimsy excuses for our under-performing government, inventing ingenious alibis for the political and economic inertia; feigning that all is well – hubris has become a national malady. We have indulged this government and allowed the political rhetoric and grandstanding to become a substitute for actual governance”. Yashwant Sinha has only said what other economists have been saying all this while. Will the Govt. listen to at least their own party veteran and ex-Finance Minister?
