Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das

Ranchi : Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das will visit Japan and the Czech Republic from October 8-14 along with a high-level delegation to woo investors, an official said on Monday.

During the visit, Das and his team would be participating in a three-day engineering fair in the Czech Republic.

In Japan, the delegation would witness road shows in Tokyo and Osaka.

Sunil Barnwal, Secretary, Industry and Information and Technology, Jharkhand, met Japanese Ambassador Kenji Hiramatsu and Czech Ambassador Milan Howarka besides other officials ahead of the visit.

Barnwal said that Japan and the Czech Republic were partner countries during the Momentum Jharkhand Summit earlier this year.

This visit would enable the Japanese companies to know about Jharkhand and also encourage investment and industrial growth in the state.

The Japanese envoy said that Jharkhand was the state with the most potential in the dream of a “New India”. He said that there was tremendous potential of growth and that Japan would be extending full cooperation to the delegation during the visit.

The envoy of Czech Republic said he was optimistic about Das’ visit. He said that many nations and renowned companies from across the world would be participating in the engineering show.

Officials of the Indian Embassy in the Czech Republic said final stages of preparation were on for the meetings and interactions during the visit.

Barnwal said Jharkhand would also have its pavilion at the international engineering show in which the investment potential, art and culture, and specialty of the state would be showcased.

Ranchi : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah said on Saturday central funding to Jharkhand has increased under Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government.

“The central government under leadership of Modi is supporting the Jharkhand government. Jharkhand’s share in the central taxes which was Rs 39,938 crore during the 13th finance commission has increased to Rs 1,24,408 crore under the 14th finance commission while central grants have gone up from Rs 6,087 crore to Rs 9,469 crore,” Shah said in a press conference.

The BJP President said under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, 1.07 crore bank accounts have been opened in Jharkahnd in which Rs 1,992 crore have been deposited.

Shah lauded the work done by the Chief Minister Raghubar Das in the state.

“Jharkhand is gaining momentum of development in the leadership of Raghubar Das. Jharkhand has been stable and it is moving in right direction,” he said.

Asked about the party’s views on Rohingya Muslims staying in India, he said: “We have clarified our stand through affidavit that we are ready to extend all forms of support to Rohingya Muslims living in Myanmar.”

Asked about rising prices of petrol after new system (dynamic pricing) was introduced he said: “This is a new system. The government will take feedback from people.”

Shah also enumerated the work done under leadership of Modi in last three years.

“India is moving in right direction and the health of the economy is good. The inflation has decreased from 9 per cent to 3 per cent.

“BJP has ended the dynasty, caste and appeasement politics in the country,” he said.

Asked about Jharkhand Governor Draupdi Murmu returning the amendment in two land acts, he said: “It was not setback. The government has to take decision considering the sentiment of the people.”

Jharkhand to appoint nodal officer for ease of business

jharkhandRanchi:(IANS) Jharkhand will appoint a nodal officer to communicate with entrepreneurs willing to set up industries in the state, an official said on Thursday.

“The state government has decided to appoint nodal officer to interact with the investors willing to invest. The decision has been taken under policy of the state government of ease of doing business,” an official of Jharkhand industry department told IANS.

The official also spoke on the investors’ complaint that “the state government does not act as facilitation agency to create business environment in the state”.

“The state government has taken a slew of measures in the field of labour, land and other sectors to help the investors. The government has launched a single window portal to help the investors,” the official said.

“Eleven companies have shown willingness to invest Rs.670 crore in food processing sector,” the official said, adding: “Jharkhand is known for minerals like iron ore, coal and others but there is huge is potential in food processing sector. The government is trying to lure the investors to set up food processing units.”
