Al-Falah University organized Job Fair in Delhi

Al-Falah University organized Job Fair in Delhi

alfalah New Delhi: Al-Falah School of  Engineering and Technology (AFSET), which was established way back in 1997, which has been given a university status recently, has been doing wonders as a muslim minority institution of  repute in the north India region. It has produced more than 25,000 quality graduates till date, spread all across the globe, and has a very good reputation among minorities, especially muslims. Al-Falah University (AFU) has played an active role in the upliftment of muslim minorities by giving them hefty scholarships, be it from its own funds or from the government of India, for that matter. Apart from the engineering courses like BTech and Mtech, AFU also offers courses like MBA, BA, BCom, BSc, BEd, Med which have been running very successfully since their inception. AFU came to know the worth of its graduates when a plethora of top notch companies participated in the job fair held at AFU campus, which is 60 acre lush green campus with the best sporting facilities like a national level cricket ground, a basket ball ground etc. The companies which participated in the February 2016 job fair event included about 21 big companies, of which giants like British Telecom, Accenture, NIIT, Munjal etc were the most prominent ones to name a few.

AlFalah Job Fair Delhi1

The job fair was open to all institutes, and the companies hired 124 graduates in total, which was indeed a handful. The event was a huge success. Due to the encouraging response of the companies, AFU again organized a quick campus at its head office in Okhla, New Delhi in the end of April 2016, which resulted in the placement of another 11 employable engineering graduates in companies like Saudi AETCON   on a very good package, destined to join the work at Saudi Arabia. Also, 28 students got selected in HI TECH GERAS LTD on a very good profile in April2016 placement drive. Due to the ever increasing demand of the students and alumni both, AFU again is planning a job fair in the month of May so as to give opportunity to the left out students and graduates so as to start a better future by plunging themselves in the knee deep corporate waters. AFU in its strive for success is slowly and gradually becoming an institute which is instilling in minority community a sense of confidence and utmost diligence, especially when it comes to placement after the completion of their courses. Thus AFU is the ray of hope in this dark tunnel of competitiveness, where even people from disadvantaged sections, can come in the mainstream and contribute to the society in positive sense of the word.

Delhi, Dhaka to sign $2 billion loan deal

DELHI DHAAKADhaka : (IANS) Dhaka and New Delhi will sign the final agreement on a $2 billion credit from India on Wednesday.

Bangladesh’s Economic Relations Division (ERD) senior secretary Mohammad Mejbahuddin and the Indian Exim Bank chairman and managing director will sign the agreement on behalf of their countries, bdnews24.com quoted ERD additional secretary Asif-uz-Zaman as saying on Tuesday.

Senior officials of the Bangladesh government and Indian diplomats, including the high commissioner, will be present there, according to Asif-uz-Zaman.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on the fresh soft loan during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Dhaka in June 2015.

A report on the final agreement has been sent to the prime minister. All the terms and conditions tagged with the fresh credit will be like those for $1 billion India lent Bangladesh in 2010, the report stated.

As many as 15 development projects were undertaken with the previous Line of Credit (LOC) and seven of them have already been completed.

The $2 billion credit carries one percent interest rate and 0.5 percent commitment fee.

The repayment period will be 20 years with a grace period of five years, according to the report.

If Bangladesh fails to utilise the credit within the stipulated time, it will have to pay an additional two percent penalty interest.

ZakatIndia’s letter to Arvind Kejriwal

Dear Sri Arvind Kejriwal Ji,

Congratulations for your party’s second victory in Delhi.

We promise that we the office bearers & members of Zakat Foundation of India shall never seek any personal favor from you or your government for ourselves or any other well placed individual.

You would kindly recall that during its second innings the UPA Govt in the centre generally ignored the restoration of justice to Muslims except toning up the Waqf law. Through a PowerPoint presentation made at Ahmedabad on 29 June 2013 in a program of Sri Narendra Modi, the ZFI President had eloquently narrated the reasons of Muslim disenchantment with his party and the requiredremedial measures. But asubstantial improvement in the situation has yet to come. Thus, during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and in the just concluded Delhi Assembly elections, Muslims overwhelminglyvoted for AAP.

We would now request you to kindly consider the following major recommendations of Justice Sachar Committee, Justice Mishra Commission, Mr. Harsh Mandar and others for planned implementation in Delhi in a time bound manner.

With warm regards, yours faithfully,

For Zakat Foundation of India:

Dr Syed Zafar Mahmood, S. M. Shakil, Asrar Ahmad, Anisur Rahman, Mumtaz Najmi, Irfan Baig, Mufti Dr Adil Jamal, Imtiyaz Ahmad Siddiqui, Kamal Akhtar

Works pending for long

  1. Units of Planning & Implementation

Make the village (in rural area) and ward (in urban area) [and not the district or block] as units of planning  for infrastructure schemes (including MSDP) and their implementation.

  1. Alternate Admission Criteria

Implement the ALTERNATE ADMISSION CRITERIA that will help the poor among all communities and will facilitate admissions to the ‘most backward’ in regular universities and colleges, providing a rating/grading system(Sachar Committee Report page 246, Statement 12.1). That way, for granting admission in higher education, the candidate’s backwardness will occupy 40% of the criteria while the remaining 60% will be based on the candidate’s academic merit.

State funding should also be linked to the use of such criteria in admissions by the educational institutions.

  1. Equal Opportunity Commission

Establish Equal Opportunity Commission in Delhi.

(Modalities were finalized by Central Govt’s Expert Committee 5 years ago)

  1. IncentiveSchemes based on Diversity Index

Institute in Delhi the Schemes for Incentives based on Diversity Index. That is to say, if an individual, a government officer, a company, a PSU etc proactively ensures that the beneficiaries of his or her work proportionately include persons of different faiths then such government officer, company, PSU etc will be given incentives by way of tax benefit or conferment of state award etc. (Modalities for such schemes also werefinalized by Central Govt’s Expert Committee 5 years ago).

  1. Interest Free Finance Option
  • Accept in principle the option for interest-free finance in the banking sector.
  • Write to the Central Government recommending the (i) Implementation of the erstwhile Planning Commission’s Raghuram Rajan Committee Report on financial sector reforms and (ii) Expeditious launch of the SBI’s proposed Shariat-friendly Mutual Equity Fund.
  • In the meanwhile, initiate the process in Delhi by granting the facility of SUKUK BONDS.
  1. Budget Component

Create Special Component Plan in the Budget for Muslims’ skill development programs and other economic opportunities.

(‘Promises to Keep’  by Harsh Mandar & others)

  1. Delimitation

Get de-reservedthe constituencies with substantial Muslim presence. Create a cell in the CM’s office to carry out research and collect data. Write to the Delimitation Commission to remove these anomalies.

For example, in Delhi, Mangolpuri assembly constituency (Scheduled Castes 34.16%, Muslims 6.31%) is not reserved for SCs. However, Seemapuri assembly constituency (SCs 28.97%, Muslims 17.38%) is reserved for SCs. Such gross injustice to Muslims needs to be reversed.

  1. Waqfs

(a)Institutionally ensure that

(i)  No Waqf property is leased at less than the currently prevalent fair market rate of rent.

(ii) No Waqf lease proposal is required to be submitted to the state government before the State Waqf Board is enabled to issue the lease order.

(b) Orderthe vacation of Waqf properties occupied for long by the  central &Delhi Governmentsand their agencies and restore these to the Delhi State Waqf Board. For the period of occupation, Waqf Board should be given rent at market rate.

(c) Ensure that all the 123 Waqf properties are immediately returned to the Delhi Waqf Board immediately and it begins working to fruitfully utilize these as per the Waqf purposes.

(d)Appoint a senior officer of an all-India or central serviceas CEO of Delhi Waqf Board on the pattern of several states where senior officers are appointed to manage temples &pratishthaans.

  1. Madarsas

(a) Publicize the Central Madarsa Modernization Scheme (SPQEM) in Urdu &Hindi.

(b)  Establish equivalence between Madarsa and other education in coordination with UGC and NIOS.

  1. Urdu Teachers

Implement the Central Urdu Teachers Scheme.

  1. Muslim Nomination & Involvement

(a) Like, Andhra Pradesh, evolve procedure to nominate Muslims in public positions of power, not only in areas of exclusive Muslim interest but in all other areas also.

(b) Involve Muslim beneficiary groups in planning & oversight of

projects.

(c) Concentrate on benefiting the whole Muslim community, not only a few individuals.

By Dr Abdul Ruff,

How come Muslims in Delhi state, who have all along been supporters of Congress party, ensuring it came to power for three consecutive terms, have suddenly switched sides towards the new Aam Aadmi Party?

Answer is very simple. Muslims, like other communities in Delhi, have come to appreciate the concern the AAP has for common people and the good work done by the AAP led by Arvind Kejriwal both as a new government and before and after that.

They knew the national parties Congress and BJP for years now but they see AAP as the only sincere party that would serve the common people of Delhi, including Muslims with concerns and commitments. BJP and Congress parties promoted VIP culture in Indian capital and AAP has already  made the common people  a special status by providing them with privileges they had never known hitherto.

Arvind Kejriwal has become the only hope left for the common people among Muslims as well and they trust him.  The trust of people in a leader is very important.

During the poll campaign days, Muslims in fact, like others, waited for Kejriwal to arrive  their localities to address them. At the Muslim dominated Saheen Bagh in Okhla, for instance, Arvind Kejriwal was expected to arrive at 3.30 pm. Local leaders keep busy engaging the audience as it swells in size gradually. The now famous Aam Aadmi caps clearly outnumber skull caps. At 6.30 pm, there’s still no news on the arrival of Kejriwal. The venue, a narrow, long stretch of road was getting filled up fast. The balconies and rooftops of houses on one side of the road are nearly full. It’s 8.30 pm. There’s still no sign of Kejriwal. But the venue was packed to the brim. The AAP convenor finally arrives at close to 9.30 pm and the waiting crowd bursts into lusty applause.

Something has changed here between December 2013 and February 2015. In 2013, they treated the AAP with some suspicion, though its candidate, Irfanullah Khan, stood second by securing 23, 459 votes. That is no more the case now. The community backs AAP whole-heartedly.

Kejriwal reminds one of former Tamil Nadu CM MGR, an actor turned politicians, for whose arrival people used to wait for up to 24 hours. The waiting crowd in Delhi and the air of expectancy reveal that the AAP has gained considerable ground. The ability of the AAP to hold its own against the Narendra Modi-led turbo-charged campaign of the BJP in the national capital has convinced the community that they have a strong alternative to the Congress now.

Holding Congress responsible for the social, economic and educational backwardness of the Muslim community, a food technology graduate from Aligarh Muslim University sarcastically says, “Sachar committee and Ranganath Mishra commission reports tell the community what it has got from Congress as reward of loyalty.” Dr Tanweer Fazal, who teaches who teaches at Centre for the Study of Social Systems, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), predicted that in many of the constituencies, Muslims would vote for the AAP. “In the last election, the community did not know if the AAP could defeat the BJP, but this time it is slightly different. Certainly, they will get benefit in some of the constituencies,” he observed. Yes, something has changed in the last one year. The Muslim community has changed itself.

The Congress party, like other so-called secular parties, uses pathetic looking and really poor Muslims as their vote bank and wants to make political capital of the sense of insecurity among the members of the Muslim community all over India and it pretends to be the chief protector of the Muslims and other minorities. But all this is only fool Muslims and steal their valuable votes to form cabinets to serve the rich and corporates

How did Congress betray the Muslims on the Babri Mosque issue is known to the world as Hindus in the party have tacit communication on Muslim issues and act accordingly!

Congress and allies have exploited the weak disposition of Muslims thus far.

Muslims now look with high hopes look to AAP to help them overcome difficulties and lead them to join national mainstream to live with dignity.
