Sensex gains 83 points ahead of RBI policy meet

Mumbai:(IANS) A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Tuesday was trading at 83.20 points or 0.32 percent up during the morning session ahead of the Reserve Bank of India’s policy meet later in the day.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading at 24.75 points or 0.31 percent up at 7,960 points.

The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 26,201.27 points, was trading at 26,228.87 points (at 9.16 a.m.) in the early session, up 83.20 points or 0.32 percent from the previous day’s close at 26,145.67 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 26,237.12 points and a low of 26,195.95 points in the trade so far.
