The senior Congress leader is confident about his victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls

Mumbai: Senior Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam today thanked Congress President Rahul Gandhi for trusting him with the candidature to field from the Mumbai North-west constituency for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Being a resident of this constituency for over 25- 30 years, Nirupam states that he has always wanted to represent the people of North-west Mumbai. He also seemed confident about his victory in the polls with majority.

Speaking about his plan ahead Sanjay Nirupam said, “The Mumbai North-west constituency has its own set of problems. We are planning on drafting a separate and special manifesto only for this particular constituency. We will focus on the issues of the people here and will move from the streets of Mumbai to the Parliament to solve them”.

Nirupam stated that the specially crafted Manifesto for Mumbai North-west will focus on issues like unemployment, construction and maintenance of roads, providing clean water, proper drainage system, solving traffic issues, protection of mangroves, among others which have been haunting the people of this constituency. Nirupam added that he will not let Aarey be destroyed for the construction of metro at any cost.

Speaking about his replacement by the newly appointed Mumbai Congress Chief Milind Deora, Sanjay Nirupam said, “I congratulate Shri. Milind Deora for being appointed as the new Mumbai Congress President and hope that he continues to fight for the people of Mumbai just like I have been doing till now since Mumbaikars are agitated over the failure of the BJP- Shiv Sena Govt and the BMC to provide them with basic amenities and quality life”.

Sanjay Nirupam also stated that he will continue to fight for the problems of the people just like he has been doing so far.
