Qatar’s ranking at Global Innovation index remains at 50, top at infrastructure spending

QatarDoha, Qatar, (NNN-QNA) : Qatar achieved a marked improvement in this year’s Global Innovation Report, which showed that the country was the global leader, when it comes to the ease of paying taxes, Tertiary inbound mobility, and spending on general infrastructure.

Qatar was the third highest-ranked Arab country and 50th overall, when comparing the results of the global innovation index.

Qatar also had other strong points. The country was 20th overall, in terms of political stability and safety. It came in 29th overall, in applying the rule of law.

Qatar was also ranked 16th in terms of the high amount of graduates from science and engineering majors.

The Global Innovation Index is an annual ranking of countries by their capacity for, and success in, innovation. It is published by Cornell University, INSEAD, and the World Intellectual Property Organisation.

Switzerland was the top ranked country worldwide.

As for Arab countries, UAE came first, followed by Saudi Arabia.
