Marico’s Q1 net profit rises to 17.23%

consumer goodsMumbai, (IANS) : Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) major Marico on Friday reported a rise of 17.23 per cent in its consolidated net profit for the first quarter (Q1) ended June 30.

The company’s net profit increased to Rs 267.90 crore during the quarter under review compared to Rs 228.53 crore during the corresponding period in last fiscal, the FMCG major said in a regulatory filing here on Friday.

The total income from operations of the company rose to Rs 1,754.26 crore in Q1, up 0.24 per cent from Rs 1,749.99 crore reported during the same quarter last year.

On a standalone basis, the company’s net profit surged by 29 per cent to Rs 234.88 crore during the quarter under review, from Rs 182.12 posted during the corresponding period in 2015.

The standalone total income from operations of the company rose by 0.71 per cent to Rs 1,454.39 crore from Rs 1,444.09 crore reported during the like period of the last fiscal.
