Jamia Hamdard celebrated the 78th Independence Day with full Fervour and Zeal.

New Delhi, August 16, 2024: JAMIA HAMDARD Celebrated the 78th Independence Day at Hamdard Convention Centre, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi with full fervour and zeal. On this occasion Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard hoisted the National Flag on 15th August, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. in the main lawns of Hamdard Convention Centre followed by singing of the national anthem in the presence of Dr. M. A. Sikandar, Registrar, Mr. S. S. Akhtar, Controller of Examinations, Mrs. Heena Parveen, various Deans of Schools, Head of Departments, Chief Proctor, DSW, Deputy DSW, Deputy Registrar, Executive Engineer, Senior officers, NCC cadets, volunteers of NSS, faculty, staff members and students of Jamia Hamdard.

The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam and the First Lady of the university Mrs. Heena Parveen received the Guard of Honour by the NCC cadets (boys and girls) and Security Guards of Jamia Hamdard.

As a part of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”, “Har Ghar Tiranga” Campaign, a series of activities were carried out by different clubs of Jamia Hamdard during 13th to 15th August, 2024.

Jamia Hamdard celebrated the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on the Theme “Viksit Bharat”. The students of different clubs viz. NSS, Eco Club and Centre for Environment and Sustainable Development participated in various activities related to environment.

Patriotic songs were presented by the students of the Music/Cultural Team. Students of Film and Drama Club performed cultural programmes wherein they highlighted the sacrifices made to gain freedom and urged the youth of today to remain united to uphold the sanctity and sovereignty of our great Nation.

In his speech, the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor highlighted the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters to gain independence from British rule and he paid rich tribute to the heroes of the freedom movement. He further said that it is a matter of great pride for Jamia Hamdard that it secured First Rank in India in Pharmacy institution category in NIRF Rankings-2024. Jamia Hamdard secured the top position in Pharmacy for the 6th times since the NIRF was launched. He also mentioned that Jamia Hamdard has improved its ranking in ‘Management’, ‘University’ and ‘Overall’ categories significantly in the NIRF 2024.

The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard congratulated Dean, School of Pharmaceutical Education & Research, Prof. (Dr.) Farhan Jalees Ahmad, Registrar, Director, IQAC and Research and Development, Dy. Director, IQAC and the NIRF Team, all the faculty members, students and staff members for this big achievement.

He also urged the all stakeholders of Jamia Hamdard to make concerted efforts to maintain the top position. Prof. Afshar Alam also thanked the Hon’ble Chancellor Janab Hammad Ahmed for his continued support to Jamia Hamdard in all quality initiatives.

Sweets were distributed to all the Jamia Hamdard fraternity and it was followed by Tree Plantation Drive- Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam. The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard and his wife Mrs. Heena Parveen, Prof. Shahid Umar, Dr. Iqbal Raja Khan, NSS Volunteers, members of Eco Club and other officers planted trees near Convention Centre, Jamia Hamdard. The Tree plantation drive was organized by the Horticulture Committee of Jamia Hamdard under Mission “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”.
