Addis Ababa,(NNN-ENA) : Ethiopian Transport Minister Workneh Gebeyehu has called on investors from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to consider the potentials in the transport sector in Ethiopia, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
The minister’s remark came when he met UAE Ambassador to Ethiopia Ghazi Abdullah Al Mahri here Wednesday to discuss co-operation between the two countries in the transportation sector.
Dr. Workneh briefed Ambassador Ghazi about Ethiopia’s enormous investment potentials in road, rail and air transportation as well as infrastructure and has called on UAE investors to become involved in Ethiopia.
He affirmed the government’s commitment to extend the necessary support to Emirati investors and address the challenges they may faced. He also expressed Ethiopia’s keenness to learn from the UAE’s experience in building airports and other aviation facilities.
Ambassador Ghazi Abdullah said the UAE had a desire to take part in Ethiopia’s wider investment opportunities including the transport sector.
He stated that UAE also wanted to exchange its transportation expertise and experience with Ethiopia.
