Many writers have written world over about the disasters created by the “Silent Majority” in times of crisis and chaos.

Today, our country is passing through a similar phase. Fortunately in our country of centuries of divine wisdom and spirituality, the vast majority is Not Silent.

Who is this majority ? They are Hindus, Muslims, Jains Christians Dalits and above all Women. They are liberals, intellectuals priests Sants Maulvis farmers and the common masses.

They are not silent anymore. They are speaking up in small groups and big protests and larger Rallies. Youth, Men  and Women of all age groups.

They are speaking out against a small but strident voices of war-like fundamentalists who have captured the ” Hindu” space and call for a holy war against other religions.

Now , these Bharti Liberals  are replying them in even louder voices : You cannot represent us anymore. We are real Hindus—all  Indians of every race religion, caste and colour.” Our manifesto is entirely different from yours.

Writing in Times of India s middle column, Sagarika Ghose declares the manifesto for a liberal Hindu, and enumerates points of the beauty of Hinduism.

She writes ” your faith is subliminal , ever present but hardly domineering. You have sung QawwLis, Bhajans and Christmas carols, enjoyed your Kababs without guilt. ”

” Yes, caste and superstition created terrible injustice. But from within the ranks of Hinduism itself rose the great social reformers who challenged these evils : Phule and Ram Mohan Roy, Vivekanand and Tagore.”

Today, our country is thrown into chaos, and crisis by a strident minority , just because they have captured power, and claim to be the voice of the other so far silent majority.

They have defaced, and distorted the beautiful face of Hinduism. they are riding on the wave of polarisation, and dividing the country.

Sagarika Ghose further writes ” Liberal Hindus, you don’t recognise this new angry ,religion. Why should you? You are the legatees of Kabir and Mira, of Krishna Chaitanya and Ramkrishna and you know Hinduism has always stood for an open embrace of diversity and pluralism.”

Yes, the silent majority is speaking out against these divisive forces, and they are silent no more! They know the beauty of True Hinduism, and the real strength of a ” United India “.

Ms Ghose writes, ” Whoever ruled on earth, whether British or Mughal, Hinduism has always been indestructible.”

History tells us that such destructive  and divisive forces rise up every now and then on the face of the Earth but are short lived like Foam on the waves of time and  vanish soon.
