Congress Party Appoints Dr. Azam Baig as In-charge of UPCC’s Minority Department

New Delhi:(Press Release) UP Assembly Election is on the corner. Along with four other states, the voters of UP will also be going to polling booths in February and March of 2022. Having an eye on 20% huge minority vote bank in UP, the Congress Party is making all possible efforts to cash-in as much as possible. Minority Department of All India Congress Committee is playing an important role in that direction and on 23rd December 2021, it has appointed Dr. Azam Baig as In-charge of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee’s Minority Department.

The office of Mr. Azam Baig has informed us that as Dr. Baig received an appointment letter, congratulations and best wishes started pouring from numerous senior Congressmen on his appointment as in-charge of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee’s Minority Department. Dr. Baig showed his highest gratitude for all the senior leaders of Congress party who have entrusted him for this responsibility, particularly Congress General Secretary Smt. Priyank Gandhi, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Ashok Gehlot, National Chairman of Congress’s Minority Department Shri Imran Pratapgarhi, UP Congress PresidentShri Ajay Kumar Lallu, Secretary in-charge Shri Dheeraj Gurjar, AICC Secretary Shri Tauqir Alam and Chairman of UPCC minority department Shri Shahnawaz Alam. After receiving the appointment letter from the party, Dr. Azam Baig has expressed hisconfidence, saying that he will work with full devotion and dedication towards the task assigned to him by the top leadership of the party.Dr. Azam then reached AICC office at 24 Akbar Road, New Delhi and thanked Shri Imran Pratapgarhifor showing his trust upon him, and then all the Congress party workers available in the AICC office started congratulating Dr. Baig.

Dr. Azam Baig has been very active and aware of politics since his student life at Aligarh Muslim University. After being the President of AMU Students Union, Dr. Azam Baig joined the Congress in 1995 by then AICC General Secretary Shri Jitendra Prasad and Professor Zillur Rahman and worked in Congress party as a party worker.He then, has been the supervisor and observer of the party in states like Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal. He wasalso general secretary and vice president of Rajasthan Pradesh Youth Congress from 1996 to 2004. And for last three years, he is performing a duty of National Convener of the All India Congress Committee’s Minorities Department.

Many believe that his installation as UPCC’s Minority In-charge will Certainly benefit the party in the Uttar Pradesh because of his vast experience.

Immediately after being appointed as UPCC minority in-charge, Dr. Azam Baig started touring Uttar Pradesh and he is now on three-day visit of the state. He will attend Quami Ijlas being held at Shibli College, Azamgarh on 26th December 2021and he is supposed to reach Delhi by December 28.
