Manama : Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa on Tuesday received an invitation from Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev to attend the first Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Science and Technology, set to be held in Astana on September 10-11.
The invitation was handed over to the king at Al-Safriya Palace on Tuesday by Akylbek Kamaldinov, the special envoy of the president of Kazakhstan and deputy foreign minister, who is currently visiting Bahrain.
King Hamad appreciated the invitation, wishing the summit all success in achieving its goals of bolstering the march of development in the OIC member states and enhancing cooperation among them. He also valued the strenuous efforts and contributions of Kazakhstan, led by President Nazarbayev, to serving the Muslim Ummah and strengthening the joint Islamic action.
