The allliance if comes to power will give two chief ministers, one from OBC and another from Dalit community
NEW DELHI — Asaduddin Owaisi, president of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), has on Saturday announced his alliance with Babu Singh Khwaha of Jan Adhikar Party and Bharat Mukti Morcha, according to media reports.
News agency ANI has quoted Owaisi saying while addressing a press conference, “If the alliance comes to power there will be 2 chief ministers, one from OBC community and another from Dalit community. There would be 3 deputy chief ministers including from Muslim community,”
Babu Singh Khwaha of Jan Adhikar Party, when asked whether the alliance is formed out of compulsion as there was no other option, explained that it is not compulsion and said “We worked for Dalit, backward and minority community for a long time.”
Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections are scheduled to be held from 10 February to 7 March 2022 in seven phases to elect all 403 members.
The votes will be counted and the results will be declared on 10 March 2022.
