India stands embarrassed, humiliated, Congress spokesperson on outrage in gulf countries

uae tweetsNew Delhi : India’s opposition Congress party has expressed concerns over outrages in gulf countries in connection with the treatment of Indian Muslims and patronisation of anti-Muslim forces by ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.

In a tweet, Congress spokesperson Sanjay Singh said, “The BJP gives tickets to Pragya Singh Thakur and #TejasviSurya etc because it helps popularise their hardline bigoted political profile. But the chickens usually come home to roost. Today, India stands embarrassed, humiliated.”

Several Arab citizens and intellectuals have slammed BJP parliamentarian Tejasvi Surya for a two-year tweet about Arab women. They held Surya’s tweet as disrespect to their women.

Similarly, Pragya Singh Thakur has been a terror accused, who have in jail for several years. She has also been criticised for glorifying Mahatma Gandhi’s killer Nathuram Godse.

Since last week, Arab activists have regular at highlighting the persecution of Indian Muslims caused by Islamophobic sentiments apparently fuelled by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which is the ideological partner of ruling BJP.

They have stormed microblogging site Twitter with media reports and visuals representation that depict the persecution of Muslims at the hands of Hindu fanatics.

Several Indian expats have also been found writing disgraceful comments about Muslims and Islam. Several of them faced strong criticism by Arab citizens besides many having been deported or having faced another kind of action.
