New Delhi: 23 Sep , Modi government has got a much needed support from another prominent Muslim organization on abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir and rolling out NRC across the country.
Maulana Asghar Ali Imam Mahdi Salafi , general secretary of Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadees gave his support to Modi government on abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir and rolling out NRC across the country on Saturday when he met with home minister Amit Shah along with the leaders of Jamiyat Ulama-e-Hind.
There was no confusion about the stand of Jamiyat Ulama-e-Hind regarding Article 370 and NRC as its National president Maulana Qari Mohammad Usman Mansoorpuir, and Mahmood Madani have already supported the government on the above both issues more than twice in two weeks , but this time Modi government got a shot in arm from the largest Salafi group on the controversial issues like abrogation of Article 370 and rolling out NRC across the country.
According to the press statement of JUH, a delegation comprising of the leaders of Jamiyat Ulama-e-Hind and other Muslim organizations called on Shri Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India at his Krishna Menon Marg residence and discussed various important issues concerning the country and community. The delegation was led by Jamiyat Ulama-e-Hind National president Maulana Qari Mohammad Usman Mansoorpuir accompanied by Maulana Mahmood Madani JUH General Secretary and Maulana Asghar Ali Imam Mehdi Salafi, Ameer Jamiat Ahle Hadith Hind prominently .
Maulana Mahmood Madani, General Secretary of Jamiyat Ulama-e-Hind during the meeting handed over to the Home Minister the Hindi version of resolutions that were adopted in the recently concluded General Council Meeting of Jamiyat Ulama-e-Hind (JUH).
Mahmood Madani also asserted that there might be differences of opinion over some issues with the government, but if the matter belongs to the national interest, JUH would stand side by side with it.
JUH deplores every separatist movement and it always stands up for the cause of united India,he added.
During the meeting with the deligation home minister Amit Shah clarified that scrapping article 370 is in the interest of people of Kashmir. This Article was instead harmful to the concerned people. He invoked many examples for proving his stand. But he also assured that the culture and tradition of Kashmiri shall not be affected.
Amit Shah also said that there was no need to get scared over NRC. In Assam, we have issued a circular that those who have been left out in NRC will be provided free legal aid by the government or will bear legal expense if someone avails legal service on his own. About conducting NRC exercise in the whole country, he said that in every country of the world this exercise has been conducted. Our intention has never been to harass members of the minority community. We will ensure that there is no discrimination based on religion. The government will continue to act against intruders as it is related to the security of the country.
Amit Shah also lauded Jamiat’s initiative for constituting Jamiat Sadbhavna Manch across the country.
Maulana Asghar Imam Salafi Mehdi said to the Home Minister that we believe in dialogue and discussion. Various issues being faced by the minority communities shall be resolved through discussions. The Home Minister assured him that he is willing to engage every Muslim organization with dialogue and discussion with an open heart.
Its yet to be seen that either the government has had a “change of heart” for Muslims or Muslim leaders had “changed their hearts” for Modi government.
On other side RSS chief Mohan Bhagat has catagerocally stated that not a single Hindu will have to leave this country over NRC.
“I assure you not a single Hindu will have to leave this country because of NRC”.
Bhagwat was quoted as saying at a meeting in Kolkata on Sunday.
