Kuala Lumpur: (Press Release) In the last few decades, the terminology of an Islamic Economy has been repeatedly deliberated on with so many different interpretations by both scholars and academics.

Nothing substantively concrete however, has ever been accepted as a clear definitive, and the conclusion appears a distance.

Islamic Economy is a term to describe the convergence between the Halal industry and Islamic financial services. Today, Halal is big business. The growing Muslim population worldwide, combined with the increasing demand for Halal products from non-Muslims, has fuelled the rapid growth and development of the Halal industry that encompasses a wide scope from food and beverages, ingredients, healthcare products and services, to personal care, tourism as well as financial services.

Today, a fourth industrial revolution is transforming economies, jobs, and even the human race itself. Under the broad title Industry 4.0, many physical and digital technologies are combining through analytics, artificial intelligence, cognitive technologies, and the Internet of Things (IoT) to create digital enterprises that are both interconnected and capable of more informed decision-making.

In short, Industry 4.0 is embedding smart, connected technology not only within organizations, but also our daily lives.

This is the foundation on which World Halal Conference 2018 (WHC) is built on, and in underlining its theme “Whither the Next Economy?”, is the Halal industry and Islamic Economy truly prepared to embrace Industry 4.0 and Disruptive Technology?

WHC2018 with its all featured components is designed to respond to all the uncertainties raised in building the future in Islamic Economy:-
