Abu Dhabi, (NNN-WAM) : The Follow-up Committee of the Initiatives of the UAE President, has approved a number of projects totalling AED 410 million (USD 117 million), in implementation of the directives of the President, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the follow-up of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
In a meeting on Monday, chaired by Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs, the committee approved the first phase of an infrastructure project, which will see a road built between Wadi Al-Qor and another, linking the Al-Hubab roundabout and Nizwa Road for AED 290 million (USD 79 million). The committee also approved phase one of a project to renovate the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Ajman, for AED 30 million (USD 8.17 million).
In addition, the committee set-up a project for the construction of a sewage network in the Emirate of Umm Al Qaiwain, worth AED 21 million (USD 5.72 million), another for establishing an internal road network, as well as, a project for building 168 housing units for citizens in the city of Kalba, for AED 15 million (USD 4.08 million).
A project for the construction of internal roads, in the Emirate of Ajman, worth AED 11 million (USD 3 million) was also put into practice.
Another project, worth AED 14 million (USD 3.81 million), which will see the upgrade of the Al Ajili road in Ras al-Khaimah, was set-up by the committee, along with another housing project for citizens in the Al Ain region, for AED 29 million (USD 7.9 million).
