Abu Dhabi, (IINA) – In a general amnesty, UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Al-Nahyan has ordered the release of 1,010 prisoners across the country on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan, WAM reported.
The prisoners’ release comes as part of the President’s keenness to give pardoned inmates an opportunity to start a new life and bring stability to their families.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is a time when Muslims fast from dawn to dusk, and the practice forms one of the five fundamental pillars of Islam.
