Shaheen Group Dedicates 244-Bed Covid Healthcare Centre in Karnataka

shaheen schoolBIDAR — The Shaheen Group of Institutions on Tuesday opened a 244-bedded COVID-19 healthcare centre in Bidar district of Karnataka. The centre was inaugurated at the Shaheen College by Bidar’s Deputy Commissioner Ramachandran R. The Bidar district has seen growth in positive cases of COVID-19.

The total tally of confirmed cases has crossed 60,000 mark in the state while around 2,000 have died.

On the occasion of inauguration, Bidar District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Gnanendra Kumar Gangwar, Assistant Commissioner Akshay Shridhar, Bidar, DHO Dr. VG Reddy, Bidar Tehsildar Shrimati Ganga Devi and others were present.

Dr. Abdul Qadeer, Founder of Shaheen Education Foundation was also present. The foundation runs 50 education institutions in 12 states under Shaheen Group of Institutions.

Earlier this year in January, some students and teachers of a school of Shaheen Group were booked under sedition law over a school play critical of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Some lady teachers and students of class IV and V were brought to the local police station for questioning and later one teacher and mother of a student were sent to jail. They were released on bail after couple of weeks.
